Your Sophia Silky Women's Slip Dress has been beautifully designed to be both elegant and comfortable.

It has spaghetti straps and a sweeping v-neck design to both the front and back; approximately 3 cm lower at the back than at the front for that classic look. With a flared bottom, tapered waist and bust darts, this mini or long slip dress is beautifully tailored to a feminine shape, and you'll find it sensually hugging your body. Finished with am exquisite pin hem, your short or long slip dress is the epitome of grace.

Cotton: Wash at 30°C, low tumble dry heat, hang to dry, do not wring, low heat iron. Silk: Dry clean only recommended, can be hand washed in cold water with silk detergent.

Your women's slip dress is available in two magnificent fabrics. Butterfly Smooth Crepe is a lightweight fabric, with a subtle crepe sheen. It has been expertly selected for the floaty, flared design of this mini or long slip dress and is made from 100% poly. Lustrous Seduction Poly Satin is a high shine, versatile fabric with light reflective properties. It wraps around the body like a second skin and is the perfect choice for evening or cocktail wear, as well as daytime occasions, as it shimmers delightfully under the sun's natural light. Choose from a full-length slip dress or a sensual mini dress which sits at mid-thigh level.

Design tips

Underwear as outerwear

This women's slip dress is so beautiful and elegant that we struggled to pick out our favourite ideas for it. The lavish cascade of the flared bottom from the tapered waist reminds us of water; this could be an ideal moment to use all of those holiday snaps that you took and didn't think you would do anything with. Waterfalls would be on the perfect canvas with this long slip dress. 

Slips were originally designed as undergarments serving many purposes; to help the dress or skirt hang properly, to protect from chafing, for warmth or even for modesty when wearing something sheer. Throughout the 90s, and beyond, as part of the underwear-as-outerwear trend (which included corsets and bikini tops worn alone with shorts) slip dresses became increasingly popular. Designed to closely resemble an underslip, appearing as an undergarment but meant to be seen, they were made from sensual and elegant fabrics. A piece of clothing that was created with such a statement, is great for getting a message across. Personalise with something that is significant to you, and spread understanding, or make a moral point at your event.
