Olivia Organza Material Information

Olivia Organza is a magical fabric with it's sparkly face and sheer texture. We print your unique designs onto the material using a specialist printing process, bonding the ink to the fibres. This means your design won't fade over time, peel away or scratch off. At only 23gsm it's super lightweight, soft to handle and transparent, but the tight weave adds stability and structure. Whether you're looking to add a decorative embellishment to a jacket, make your own organza fabric wedding decorations or add a netted overlay to a skirt, this is a pretty special fabric to use.

How to Care for your Printed Organza Fabric

Due to the delicate nature, we recommend dry cleaning only, however you can wash this fabric by hand, in cold water with silk detergent, and hang to dry. No washing machine or tumble drier! It doesn't mind being ironed should you need to, but you mustn't use steam.
When you design your material, you'll have 4 options on how you want the edges to be finished. We can cut on the line, hemmed with white thread, hemmed with black thread or just left as a rough cut. What you should know is that sheer organza fabric does fray, so please bear this in mind when choosing how you want the edges to be finished.

What Can I Use Organza For?

Some of the interesting ideas we see are beautifully printed pouches and personalised organza fabric. These are ideal for giving little gifts or putting your wedding favours in. But the uses go further than that. A great DIY craft project to embark upon is to make your own organza curtains. The natural drape and transparency would look amazing in on a conservatory window, or decorative indoor frame curtain. Scarves, ribbons, fascinator hat embellishments, stage backdrops, decorative skirt underlining...the list could go on!
Olivia Organza's light yet firm properties make it an ideal fabric for bridal wear, trim and accessories. The colour gets stronger as it is layered and it's made from 100% silk, giving it beautiful transparency and a luxurious feel.
