What is Drapery Fabric?

Drapery fabric is a generalised term which refers to textiles. It comes from Old French, the word draperie, which is derived from the Late Latin drappus and is commonly used to refer to fabrics that are used for decorative purposes, namely curtains. Drapery fabric is a medium weight fabric and is sometimes called a multipurpose fabric, it tends to be lighter than upholstery fabric. Drapery fabric can be used to upholster, but it tends to be used for lighter home and DIY projects, from curtains to valances, roman shades, duvets and wall art. 

Custom printed drapery material can be used to add a touch of personality and creativity to a room. Whether it be a home or office space, the use of custom printed drapery material can add a unique touch of interest and visual appeal to any room. The advantage of having custom drapery fabric is that it can be tailored to match the exact design and theme of the room. It's perfect for those who want to add a personalised photo touch to their interior.

How we make it

All drapery fabric is printed here in our studio in the UK

You create your personalised design using our online tool with your photos, images and text, and we digitally print it in full long-lasting colour onto your chosen material. Order your drapery fabric by the yard or metre, and choose if you want to have it sent straight as it comes off of the printer, cut on the line of your bespoke design, or hemmed by one of our expert seamstresses. Hemming options include a folded hem with a straight stitch, or an overlocked hem; both with a choice of either black or white thread.

When selecting Cotton Linen please be aware that small white dots may occur on occasion. This is due to the fabrics nature and our processing methods. This is normal and will not take away from your beautiful print.
